Yes folks, Emelio Carbajal has packed nearly every tired Jew-hating lie he knows into one barely literate paragraph.

By “juice,” Carbajal means Jews. He begins by declaring that Jews “have no land,” erasing thousands of years of Jewish history and their documented connection to the land of Israel. That connection was not invented in 1948: the 1922 League of Nations Mandate explicitly recognized the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and the grounds for reconstituting their national home there.

His claim that “Palestine let them in” is equally dishonest. There was no sovereign Palestinian country opening its borders to Jewish refugees. The territory was governed first by the Ottoman Empire and then by Britain. Far from welcoming Jewish immigration, the Arab Higher Committee demanded that Britain halt Jewish immigration and prohibit further Jewish land purchases. Britain eventually imposed severe immigration restrictions even as European Jews were desperately attempting to escape Nazi persecution.

Carbajal then trots out the “kicked out of more than 70 countries” line as though centuries of persecution, forced conversion, confiscation and expulsion prove something sinister about the victims. Apparently, when numerous governments persecute Jews, Carbajal’s conclusion is that the Jews must have deserved it. That is not history; it is the victim-blaming logic of the Jew hater.

The claim that Palestinians generously admitted the Jews and were repaid by having their country stolen is a cartoon version of history. Jewish communities already lived in the land, later immigrants legally purchased land, the League of Nations recognized a Jewish national home, and the United Nations proposed partitioning the territory into both a Jewish state and an Arab state.

Finally, Carbajal declares that Israel “doesn’t exist.” Israel has existed as a sovereign state since 1948 and was admitted to the United Nations on May 11, 1949. Carbajal is not criticizing a particular Israeli government, law or military action. He is denying the legitimacy and existence of the Jewish state while directing contempt at Jews collectively.
