Yes folks, Frank O’Callaghan has managed to squeeze three separate forms of Jew hate into one post.
He begins with a spectacularly stupid comparison. Nazi Germany never claimed that Germans were the indigenous people of Russia because Germans did not originate in Russia. Jews, however, have a documented historical connection to the land of Israel extending back thousands of years. Jewish kingdoms existed there in antiquity, Jewish communities remained there throughout centuries of foreign rule, and the 1922 League of Nations Mandate formally recognized “the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine.”
O’Callaghan then portrays “Zionists” as foreigners who commute from Brooklyn to Palestine “on vacation to murder children.” He provides no names, evidence or documented incident. It is simply an accusation that Jews travel internationally for the pleasure of killing children—an updated version of one of the oldest methods of demonizing Jews.
Finally, he drives the message home with a cartoon showing an Israeli soldier looking into a mirror and seeing a Nazi. There is no ambiguity and no legitimate policy argument hidden inside it. O’Callaghan is directly depicting Jews defending the Jewish state as the modern successors of the regime that systematically murdered six million Jews.
